Victim identified in fatal hit and run at Club Pink, police continue search for suspect

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened early Sunday outside of Club Pink.

According to the LPD, just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a hit and run at Club Pink, 510 N. University Avenue.

The driver of a stolen, red GMC Sierra pickup was traveling westbound on Erskine when it veered off the road and hit a vehicle parked on the side of the road. That vehicle then struck the victim.

The female victim, now identified as 44-year-old Sonia Loera, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. 

The driver of the stolen truck ran from the scene and did not stop to check on the woman. Police are still searching for the suspect. Police also say three other people were injured in the hit and run.

Police encourage anyone with information on this incident to call Crime Line at 741-1000.
