Multiple reports of gunshots overnight in Plainview, police still investigating

Multiple police units responded to reports of shots fired overnight in Plainview.

The Plainview Police Department tells KCBD that the first reports of  shots were fired came in just after midnight in the area of W. 10th and Borger Street.

Witnesses reported seeing a white, four-door sedan leaving the scene.

Then just before 1:00 a.m. a second call of gunshots was report in the area of 13th St. and Houston Ave. The caller also reported someone in a white vehicle driving off. 

After investigating both reports, officers found no damage and no shell casings. No one was injured. 

Officers were able to locate the driver of the reported vehicle for questioning. The incident is still under investigation at this time.

Additionally, more calls of gunshots and subjects jumping fences in the area near 14th St. and Utica, between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m. When officers searched the area, they located four teenagers setting off fireworks that sounded similar to gunshots. 

It was determined by officers that there were no guns being fired.
