SLATON, TX (KCBD) -

A high school student who collapsed after a football game Friday night has seen his condition improve.

According to Slaton ISD Superintendent Julee Becker, Isaac Dabila was breathing on his own Sunday.

Doctors have now diagnosed what caused Dabila, a band member at Slaton High, to go into cardiac arrest after the football game.

Dabila was born with the rare Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which causes a rapid heartbeat due to an extra electrical pathway between the heart's upper chambers and lower chambers.

Becker said that Dabila will be flown to Cook's hospital in Dallas on Monday or Tuesday for heart surgery.
