Cancer Cream Shows Promising Results

It's a natural antioxidant in the body and now, researchers at the University of Miami have found the enzyme called CO-Q-10 may have some cancer fighting qualities as well.

"It's killing the cancer cells, it's causing the cancer cells to go through cell death," says Niven Narain, University of Miami Dermatology.

The slide shows the effect of CO-Q10 on skin cancer cells after just two days. Most of the cells are gone and the ones remaining can't grow anymore. When used in an experimental cream on mice with skin cancer, researchers found a 55% reduction in tumor size after using the cream for 30 days.

Researchers expect to test the Q-10 cream on actual patients with skin cancer later this summer.
