KCBD has learned new information about a hit and run that happened Thursday.

Plainview police tell us a 17-year-old high school cheerleader was hit by a car that then left the scene. She suffered minor injuries to her leg.

Plainview police later discovered the vehicle belonged to 24-year-old Alan Hernandez of Plainview.

Police took him into custody for failure to stop and render aid.
