The biggest story coming out of the 55-19 blowout win over Kansas, was the injury to Texas Tech gunslinger Patrick Mahomes. And, Kliff says he is listed day-to-day.
"I do not. We're handling it day-today. Every day he shows up and we do rehab and we'll see if he can get there. It was a shoulder-area injury. I'll leave it at that. I really don't know. From what I've been told different people react differently," said head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
On the other side of the ball, the defense did what they were supposed to do against Kansas. Shutdown a struggling Jayhawks offense, and coach Kingsbury was sure proud of their performance.
"The defense as an overall unit I felt was much improved. I felt like they handled adversity a lot better than we had. We had some tough things in that third quarter, but they stood up, made some stands and kept us in the ball game and kept getting us the ball back which was good to see," Kingsbury said.
Now the competition gets harder, as they prepare for a tough Bill Snyder- Kansas State team. Who is ranked #1 in total defense, in the entire Big XII.
"How well they've played together so far. I don't know what they're ranked, top-five in the country in defense. So we'll have to play better than we did last week, that's for sure," coach Kingsbury said.
