TULSA, Okla. – The Texas Tech men's tennis team picked up five victories on the opening day of qualifying at the Saint Francis/ITA All-American Championships Monday from the Case Tennis Center hosted by the University of Tulsa.

Ronit Bisht grinded out a 6-4, 6-4 win over Filip Kraijevic of Ole Miss. He teamed with Connor Curry for a pair of doubles victories. The duo defeated UNC Greensboro's Will Albright and Warren Bryant by a 6-3, 6-1 margin followed by an upset over No. 41 Trevor Johnson and Reese Stalder of TCU fueled by a 10-3 triumph in the super tiebreaker. Bisht and Curry will play for a spot in the main draw on Tuesday.

Jolan Cailleau continued his strong play and has won four of his five singles decisions this fall. He claimed a dominate 6-2, 6-1 decision over No. 66 Constantin Schmitz of Tulane. Cailleau has defeated a trio of ranked opponents during the fall.

"It was kind of an up and down day," Texas Tech head coach Brett Masi said. "It was nice to see Ronit win all three of his matches. I also thought Jolan played a really solid match to beat the No. 9 seed and a Top 70 player. Hopefully, they can carry the momentum through to tomorrow."
