Newborn found inside plastic tub in Lubbock driveway

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Detectives with the Lubbock Police Department are conducting an investigation after a newborn baby was found wrapped in a blanket inside a clear plastic container in a residential driveway.

The child was found around 7 a.m. Monday in the 2600 block of 22nd Street, in the Tech Terrace neighborhood. 

A woman walking to her car found the infant and called police. Officers from the Field Services Bureau and Child Protective Services were called to the scene to investigate.

The police report states a package of diapers was also in the container with the child.

According to police, the infant appeared to be in good physical condition and was taken to University Medical Center for further evaluation. 

The Lubbock Police Department urges anyone with information about this case to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
