New information is released in the murder of a 3-year-old Lubbock girl. NewsChannel 11 has learned the child's mother is behind bars.

Emily Elizabeth Tarango, died at the Windcrest Estacado Apartments last month. The death has been ruled a homicide. She died from blunt force trauma to the stomach.

Her mother, Yolanda Perez, is now behind bars for alleged neglect. She was arrested last week on child endangerment charges in connection with this death. Police believe Perez knew her daughter's injury needed medical attention but left it untreated.

"We've already questioned several people that had been around the child at the time where the injuries could have occurred and we still have kind of a gap in the information at this time," said Sgt. Scott Farmer, LPD Investigator.

Police are not calling Perez a suspect in the homicide, only accusing her of being negligent, at this time.
