This week we present to you, the Stretch Lids. The makers claim their lids are so flexible, they can stretch to fit any container. You get two in your package, one small five inch lid that stretches to fit a seven inch container and a large seven inch lid that stretches to fit a nine inch container.
Square, circle, large and small, we got it all. So let's see if this $10 product can put on a performance worth seeing.
We slipped the lid on to a square container. It was a little bit of a struggle, but we managed to get it on tight. The bigger bowl would test our patience. Placing the lid on this container was a bigger problem. Every time we thought the lid was on, it would inch off on the other side.
After that one failed for us, we thought we would do a rectangular container with water inside of it. Again, after struggling with it for quite some time, I barely managed to fasten the lid on the container. We tested its vacuum seal and it did not leak the water.
For the most part, putting away left-overs shouldn't have to be a struggle like this. The concept behind this product is a good one. However, for someone who has just slaved in the kitchen, fighting to make lids fit on the container is the last thing you want to do.
The Stretch Lids did not work well for me at all.
