LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Keith Chaplin was indicted for aggravated assault with bodily injury with a deadly weapon on Tuesday.

Chaplin is accused of shooting a man in the hand back in August.

Deputies with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office say Chaplin was shot in the leg before he was taken into custody, but deputies do not know when or how it happened.

Officials say he shot the man near FM 1729 and East 50th Street after what they call a civil disagreement.

The Lubbock SWAT team captured Chaplin after a DPS helicopter search.
