Medina Resigns As LISD Board Trustee

After one year of service, Erik Medina is stepping down as Lubbock ISD school board trustee for District One.

Dr. Medina announced his resignation at Thursday morning's meeting. He is taking a position at Louisiana State University. "Some professional opportunities have presented themselves, and upon consultation with family, friends, colleagues, I decided it was in the best interest of my family to pursue those," Medina said.

Medina's term does not expire until 2008, so trustees will appoint a representative in the next few weeks.
