LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A 90-year-old legacy radio station received a new voice on Wednesday when Townsquare Media of Lubbock announced that KFYO News/Talk AM 790 will begin simulcasting on FM 95.1 effective immediately.

"We are excited to add the 95.1 FM frequency to KFYO," said Ro Snyder, News & Sports Operations Manager for Townsquare Media of Lubbock.

Consistently rated in the top ten stations in Lubbock, Snyder says the addition of 95.1 FM will allow KFYO to increase its listenership.

"This provides four platforms by which our listeners can access our content: AM 790, FM 95.1, live-streaming at KFYO.com and our RadioPup app for smart phones," said Snyder.

KFYO is Lubbock's first radio station, moving to Lubbock in 1932 from Abilene. The station began in 1926 in Texarkana, Texas. The AM station transmits at 5,000 watts in the daytime and 1,000 watts at night.

The simulcast will broadcast 24/7/365 and features local and national news, sports and talk radio including Rush Limbaugh and Pratt on Texas.
