Texas Tech (3-3) battled No. 20 West Virginia (5-0) Saturday for this year's Homecoming game.
The big play of the first quarter came when Patrick Mahomes tossed a 44-yard bomb to Jonathan Giles that tied the game at 7-7. But it was mostly downhill from there for the Red Raiders.
1st Qtr: West Virginia 10, Texas Tech 7
West Virginia increased its lead after scoring two touchdown in the 2nd quarter, and Tech's offense just couldn't get things rolling.
Halftime: West Virginia 24, Texas Tech 7
Texas Tech cut into the Mountaineers' lead with a field goal early in the third quarter. West Virginia responded with a field of its own.
3rd Qtr: West Virginia 27, Texas Tech 10
West Virginia scored a short touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to give themselves a comfortable lead. They never looked back.
Final: West Virginia 48, Texas Tech 17
