The Compassionate Friends of Lubbock hosted the first annual Walk to Remember Saturday, and event for families to remember children lost too soon.

It was an opportunity for people to head out to Buddy Holly Park to remember the life-changing tragedy some families endure.

"It's hard, I mean, you know, you can talk to all kinds of friends and family, but nobody really understands the loss of a child, unless you have lost a child," said Compassionate Friends co-leader Deneis Arriaga. "Our group, you know, we're here. We're here for them to come and talk to and just open up, vent if they have to."
