LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The retrial for a former Lubbock Police Department corporal is underway.

44-year-old Jay White is accused of felony domestic assault.

He was originally charged back in October of 2014, but the judge granted a mistrial in May, after a juror said they saw an article about the case on their phone.

Now, the jury trial is moving forward again.

White's ex-fiancé was called as a witness to the case on Tuesday.

She testified about two specific attacks, where White allegedly caused her harm.

She says one incident happened while the couple was vacationing in Ruidoso in September of 2014. The other, she says happened in their Lubbock home in October of 2014.

White's ex-fiancé also testified her children were involved in one of the attacks.

However, White's defense attorney is arguing that she is the one who is violent and aggressive.

Jurors were shown photos of White with a black eye and medical records indicating he had a lung issue.

White is currently out of jail on a $15,000 bond.

We'll continue to keep you updated with the latest developments in this case.
