67,000 appraisal notices are in the mail and the average property owner in Lubbock County can expect an increase again this year.
Monday night, the Lubbock Central Appraisal District released its 2005 property value estimates. The numbers show the Lubbock County taxable value will rise 12.6% from 2004. They say the appraisal on average home in Lubbock will increase 4.7%.
You may remember the Lubbock City Council voted last year to offset any increases in value by lowering the tax rate. If you want to protest your appraisal, you must contact the Lubbock County Appraisal District before the deadline printed on your notice.
