LUBBOCK, Texas – Head coach Tony Graystone and the Texas Tech volleyball coaching staff announced the 2017 fall signing class, consisting of five recruits, on Wednesday.

"I'm really happy with our 2017 recruiting class," Graystone said. "With the timing of us starting at Texas Tech, it was definitely a challenge to know what our needs would be and then quickly put together a quality group, but this class fills several holes and also gives us a lot to build around. We've added size, offense and ball control, all of which were priorities for us."

The 2017 class combines three All-State honors and eight All-District selections along with three USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships and one runner-up finish.

"Another common theme with this class is that every one of these players is a winner," Graystone added. "They've experienced a lot of success and understand what goes into it. As we move forward with rebuilding Red Raider volleyball, it's very important to identify players who are not only talented, but who expect to win and will set a high standard for themselves. This class meets all those requirements, and I'm excited to welcome them to Texas Tech volleyball."
