The Federal Trade Commission is now giving internet phone companies 120 days to connect customers to the 9-1-1 network.
A NewsChannel 11 investigation uncovered that 9-1-1 does not always work with Voice Over Internet Protocol Systems like Vonage. If 9-1-1 is available, the address you're calling from may not be. The FCC will now require all services to route 9-1-1 calls to local emergency dispatchers with the customer's callback number and location.
