Red Raider softball adds five fall signees

LUBBOCK, Texas – Head coach Adrian Gregory and the Texas Tech softball coaching staff announced the five members of its Fall 2017 Signing Class on Friday.

"We are incredibly excited about this class of Red Raiders," Gregory said. "We have been able to establish relationships with each one of these kids and their families over the last couple of years, which has been a true joy. This class is full of feisty, go getting competitors!"

The 2017 class, which is ranked No. 26 in the nation and fourth in the Big 12 by FloSoftball.com, pairs two Top 100 players in left-handed pitcher and outfielder Erin Edmoundson and catcher Kelcy Leach. A trio of skilled infielders round out a group that has combined for seven state honors, two state championships and two National Fast Pitch Coaches Association regional or All-American selections.

"These are kids that want to be their best and understand the work that comes along with fulfilling that goal," Gregory added. "Each one of them is a fierce competitor on the field and great ambassador off the field, which we believe is what makes great Red Raiders! We are very proud of this group and look forward to a bright future with them in the Red and Black!"

Internal passion is a very hard thing to teach and to be able to bring a young player in that possesses it is a special thing! Breanna works incredibly hard day in and day out to be the best for herself and for her team. She is yet another one in this class that will better us every day!"
