Plainview Student Graduates With Perfect Attendance

A Plainview Christian High School student will graduate Saturday with an achievement that has never been accomplished in the history of the school, perfect attendance.

From kindergarten at Plainview Christian Academy to his senior year at Plainview Christian High, Jarred Barrera never missed one day of school. It's those 13 years of perfect attendance that is making his school and his parents proud. "We always installed in our kids to shoot for the stars and do things other people don't dare to do," Jarred's mother said.

Jarred said he thanks God for his good health and for never having any excuses to miss class. He also said he was tempted to miss class just weeks ago on Senior Skip Day. "Everybody was all tired and stuff, and they were like we're going to skip and I said no, I can't skip, I have to go to school," Jarred said.

This appears to be a record Jarred will keep for quite some time. No other student at Plainview Christian School are on track to meet the same feat. Jarred will attend Wayland Baptist University in the fall, driving his graduation gift, a new Mustang.
