Authorities Capture Suspect Following Car & Foot Chase

An 18 year old man is in custody after leading police on a car and foot chase in South Lubbock.

The incident started just before 8pm, at Farm to Market Road 1585 and Highway 114 when DPS Troopers tried to pull over David Theodore Salazar for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. But, Salazar continued driving until he crashed his car in the 4200 Block of 97th Street. That's when the foot chase began.

After thirty minutes, the ordeal came to an end in the 4300 Block of 97th Street. That's where authorities found Salazar hiding in the backyard of a home. He now faces a felony charge of evading arrest among others.
