An open house was held at the South Plains Food Bank's G.R.U.B. farm Saturday.
G.R.U.B., which stands for Growing Recruits for Urban Business, is the youth project of the South Plains Food Bank. Local Native Americans blessed the farm land in hopes of a bountiful harvest. And visitors took tours of the 5.5 acres.
City council members, Floyd Price, Linda DeLeon and Phyllis Jones were on hand for the open house. The Carolyn Lanier Youth Farm is located at 76th and Avenue B.
