LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock County Grand Jury indicted Jason Moncrief for aggravated assault of a public servant on Tuesday.

Two Lubbock police officers were patrolling the 4100 block of 22nd Place and Oxford on Nov. 3.

They say Deana Zuazu was walking down 22nd when she was approached by Jason Moncrief.

Police knew that Moncrief had an outstanding felony parole violation warrant, and the Detective working the case had surveillance video of both of them using stolen checks at a local business.

The officer tried to pull Moncrief over, but he fled the scene, drove a short distance then hit a Lubbock police truck.

Both suspects got out of the car and ran and were later arrested. Moncrief and Zuazu were taken to the Lubbock Sheriff's Office and booked.
