LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The 23rd annual Gene Messer Shootout once again has a strong 16 team field of boy's basketball teams.

The action tips off Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the Tiger Pit at Frenship High School.

Local teams include host Frenship, Coronado, Monterey, Plainview, Estacado, Seminole, Brownfield and the Lubbock Titans.

Former Smyer Coach Lonnie Burnam brings the Dumas Demons to town plus the #11 team in 6A Duncanville will be here. Decatur, El Paso Coronado, El Paso Eastwood, El Paso Socorro, New Way and Palo Duro round out the field.

See the attached bracket for matchups and game times. The Gene Messer Shootout Championship is 4 p.m. Saturday at Frenship High School.
