A bill designed to give you more options for cable television is headed for the governor's desk.
The Senate unanimously passed the telecommunications bill Tuesday, just one day after the measure passed the House. The bill allows phone companies to offer television services in any area of a city they choose.
Companies would be able to purchase a franchise from the state rather than the city, however we're told the city of Lubbock would continue to get it's 5% franchise fee from these companies.
