LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two young local cross country runners are heading to Nationals.

10-year-old Reece Pena and 13-year-old Colby Sandoval have qualified for the USATF National Cross County Race in Hoover, Alabama this Saturday.

The two have been training hard under Coach Avery Stilley and are eying first place finishes.

Recently in a qualifying race in Plainview, Reece ran the 3,000 Meter race in 12:11:70 to take first.  Colby ran the 4,000 Meter race in 15:18:70 take win 1st.

My kids, Bella and Henley watched the dynamic duo go through their workouts. They are dedicated and focused on doing well at Nationals.

Good luck to Reece and Colby this weekend in Alabama.
