Lubbock Police Warn About Driving Dangers During Holiday Weekend

Lubbock Police and DPS Troopers are sending a warning, "be careful, buckle up and pay attention."

Local and area law enforcement have already responded to a number of accidents in the past 24 hours.

"This weekend, watch your speed, watch the other guy, don't get behind the wheel if you've had anything to drink and watch out for other people that have been drinking or driving. That way, you'll have a safe holiday, " said Sgt. Mike Steen with the Lubbock Police Department.

Authorities across the state are stepping up their patrols this weekend, looking for speeders, drunk drivers and anyone not wearing their seat belt.
