Everyday they respond to calls that make a difference in a life; at 7pm Saturday, Lubbock EMS observed a moment of silence in honor of all fallen first responders. It was at that same moment that a minute of silence was observed at the National EMS Memorial in Roanoke, Virginia.
"This is just a way to honor those people who have fallen. Just to remember them, and so we've taken a minute out of our busy lives to honor them," one EMS worker said.
Lubbock has lost two EMS paramedics in the line of duty since 1991.
