ARLINGTON, TX (KCBD) -

Borden County crushes Jonesboro 60-12 to take the 1A Division I State Championship at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The Borden County Coyotes faced an undefeated Jonesboro team at Cowboy Stadium for the 1A Division I State Championship.

Trey Richey's goal was to bring a state football title to West Texas for the first time since 2010.

The Coyotes jump out to an early 8-0 lead over the Eagles, but Jonesboro responds with a rushing touchdown, but a missed extra point by the Eagles and Borden County still lead by 2.

The Coyotes lead at halftime 32-12 and never look back, as Borden scores 22 unanswered points in the third quarter.

Borden County’s defense holds Jonesboro scoreless in the second half.

The Coyotes are too much as they win on the mercy rule in the 1A Division I State Championship over Jonesboro.

Congressman-Elect Jodey Arrington issued the following statement on the Borden County Coyotes State Championship win tonight:

Congratulations to the Borden County Coyotes on their State Championship! These young men and their coaches have made us all proud!
