A man walking his dog found the remains around 5 p.m. Monday near 66th and Ash Street in East Lubbock.
The remains are believed to resemble a foot but will undergo testing. At this time, it's not known whether the remains are human or animal. Sgt. Jeff Davis with the Lubbock Police Department says, "They've collected the bones and will take them to the lab for examination and we'll treat this as a crime scene."
Investigators took several photos of the scene and blocked east bound traffic on 66th street and I-27 for hours as they gathered evidence.
