Tuesdays storms are forcing hundreds of Lubbock car owners to call their insurance companies. Hail busted many car windows and left dings and dents on hundreds of others. Needless to say, AS Dent Shop was one of the busiest places in Lubbock on Tuesday.
The phone didn't stop ringing Tuesday at AS Dent Shop. And every call is someone looking for an estimate to repair their hail-damaged vehicle. You can bet owner, Allen Scott counted hundreds of dents after Tuesday morning's hail. Scott said, "I've got a lot of customers that I knew would be calling wanting to get their cars fixed up and sure enough I've got a lot of good customers that I've taken care of over the years and have hail damage again."
David Benson's vehicle is covered with hail damage and he'll end up paying for most of because he carries liability insurance only. "The worst thing that could happen. It'll be over $1,000, but the cheaper the better it'll be, but you never know," said Benson.
However, Scott said hail damage ranges from $50 to over $2,000. And an amazing work of nature takes an even more amazing piece of technology to correct the problem. Scott massages the dent until it disappears, which can be a time consuming process, and after Tuesday's storm, his lot will likely stay full.
Scott said, "Lots of cars need to be fixed. That becomes a challenge taking care of everybody and getting it done. But, again, this is not my first rodeo, I've done this a lot."
Zip Auto Glass says they've been unusually busy as well because of the hail. They've repaired numerous windshields and rear windows.
