Better Business Bureau Warns of Repair Scams

A warning from the Better Business Bureau: beware of "Storm Troopers."

"It [the weather] does present an opportunity for some scams to come in...we call them the storm troopers." said Nan Campbell, President of the Better Business Bureau.

The Storm Troopers are scam artists that follow storms, travel to towns and offer to make repairs. But they usually take off before they finish a job or do work that is not quality.

The Better Business Bureau warns against doing business with anyone who seeks your business out instead of you calling for repairs yourself. Another red flag is anyone who asks for payment up front or those who ask for cash only.

To check out a business or to report a scam, call the Better Business Bureau at 763-0459.
