How Much Sleep Do Teens Need?

How many hours of sleep do you think a teen needs at night? The answer, according to a study that reviewed 20 years of sleep research, is nine or ten hours every night.

Researchers at Brown University reviewed all that and found that not getting those nine hours or more a night is to blame for lots of problems during the teen years like depression, insomnia, narcolepsy or sleep apnea, mood disorders and a poor performance in school and sports something that can also lead to peer problems.

The study is in the journal Pediatrics.
