A new Lubbock housing development is gaining nationwide attention.
On Monday, NewsChannel 11 told you about a new subdivision in West Lubbock called "Milwaukee Ridge." Developers will make all homeowners and anyone living in the house, including children undergo a criminal background check. No sex offenders will be allowed.
Since the story aired, developer Clayton Isom has been flooded with calls from media. Wednesday morning he appeared on MSNBC and will do a number of other radio talk shows. "I never imagined it was going to get this big, but if you look at what we're trying to get at, we're trying to raise an issue and do something to protect children and everybody is sensitive to that," said Clayton Isom, developer of Milwaukee Ridge.
Isom says Milwaukee Ridge will be the first sex-offender free neighborhood in the country.
