JAYTON, TX (KCBD) -

School on Thursday and Friday, the track meet on Thursday and the Little Dribblers basketball game on Saturday have all been canceled for Jayton-Girard ISD after a battle with the stomach virus and the flu. The varsity boys will still compete in the Regional Tournament at South Plains College in Levelland on Friday, March 3 at 8 p.m.

School classes will resume Monday, March 6.

The maintenance staff will disinfect and clean the entire building and school vehicles in the next few days.

To help keep the children and community healthy, wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after coughing, sneezing or wiping noses. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, but remember to wash your hands afterward. Wash your hands after using the restroom.

Please keep your child home when they're sick. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine before returning to school. Also, children should stay home for 24 hours after the stomach flu.
