SPC Lady Texans win Region V opener

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The 6th-ranked South Plains College Lady Texans won their opening round game of the NJCAA Region V Tournament, beating Ranger College 61-46.

The Region V Women's & Men's Tournaments will be played at Frenship High School in the Tiger Pit in Wolfforth.

The Lady Texans used the long ball as they hit 8 3-pointers in the game. Brittany Smith had 18 points.

SPC is now 27-4 overall and next play Collin 1 p.m. Friday at Frenship.

The No. 1 undefeated South Plains College men open Region V play 8 p.m. Thursday night against Hill in Wolfforth.
