118th Street west of Indiana closed Friday for utility construction

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Starting Friday, March 10, 118th Street west of Indiana Avenue will be closed for utility construction. The closure will take place following the dismissal of students from Laura Bush Middle School for Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District’s Spring Break.

After utility work is completed on 118th Street, work will begin on 122nd Street west of Indiana Avenue. Detours will be set up to direct drivers through the work zone.

The utility installation is expected to last approximately one week. The City of Lubbock urges drivers to use caution while driving near work zones and to seek alternate routes when possible.

    Just before 6:40 p.m. on December 8th, Lubbock Police received a call for a crash involving a pedestrian in the 5200 block of Avenue Q South Drive. When officers arrived they located a male pedestrian lying on the roadway on Avenue Q.
