NASHVILLE, TN (WBRC) -

Alabama beat Mississippi State 75-55 Thursday afternoon in Nashville to advance to the next round in the SEC Basketball Tournament.

"We were just focused from the start, we were locked in before the game and we weren't messing around or anything we just knew what we had to come out and do," said guard Avery Johnson, Jr.

The Tide shot 47-percent from the field in their win over the Bulldogs. Freshman Dazon Ingram was a perfect 7-7 from the field, leading the team with 17 points.

"It just boost my confidence. Once I'm able to hit a few, I'm just going to try and attack and do whatever I can do help my team," freshman Dazon Ingram said.

With the win, the Tide's attention now turns to South Carolina, a team they beat in 4 OT on February 7th.

"I would say they be coming for revenge, but we are just going to go out and do what we do and play patient and poise," said forward Donta Hall.

"It's going to come down to defense, we are both defensive minded teams so we are just going to have to execute on offense like we did on Thursday," added Ingram.

Alabama and South Carolina tip off around 2:30 Friday afternoon.
