City Council approves resolution to allow businesses to rent non-motorized watercrafts

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock City Council unanimously approved a resolution Thursday night, allowing businesses to rent non-motorized watercrafts to people on certain lakes in the city.

According to the Parks and Rec director, this includes all Canyon Lakes and some Playa lakes.

Companies would be able to set up shop and rent paddle boards, kayaks, and more out to people during park hours, and remove everything when the parks close.

The Director says the first company interested in rental services plans to start as early as this May.
