#1 South Plains College upset in Region V Tournament

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The top ranked Junior College Basketball team, #1 South Plains College suffered their first loss of the season as Western Texas College pulled the upset 82-74 in the Region V semifinals at Frenship High School Friday night.

The Texans have won all 29 games this season and had beat Western Texas twice in the regular season.

However, the Westerners from Snyder didn’t let it happen a 3rd time advancing to the Region V Championship game 4:30 Saturday in Wolfforth vs. Odessa.

South Plains College will still earn a spot in the National Tournament when bids are handed out on Sunday.
