LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The University of Texas San Antonio handed the Red Raiders their first home loss of the season on Saturday.

The Red Raiders (13-3) took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd and then get another run across in the bottom of the 7th.

But UTSA (8-6) scored three runs in the 9th as the Roadrunners handed Tech their first home loss of the season.

Steven Gingery had a solid outing on the mound for Tech. He threw for 8.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs while striking out a career high 8.

But the Red Raider bullpen could not stop UTSA in the 9th.

The rubber match is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

Week 3 of Texas Tech's football fall camp is underway and there are still questions on both sides of the football. The air raid attack is to be expected, but Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury likes what he's seen from the Red Raiders backfield so far.
