Lubbock City Councilman To Announce Bid For Mayor

Lubbock City Councilman Tom Martin is set to make a run for the mayor's seat. An announcement is expected at a 10 a.m. news conference Wednesday.

Nearly three months ago, Lubbock businessman David Miller announced his intentions for the same office. Wednesday's announcement will set the stage for what could be a highly contested race for mayor. Current Mayor Marc McDougal says he does not plan to seek re-election. The election is in May of 2006.
