Hutchison Skips Bid For Texas Governor

You can rule out any talk of Kay Bailey Hutchison running for Governor of Texas. Her camp announced Friday night she is seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate.

NewsChannel 11 first told you she had been named as a possible gubernatorial candidate earlier this month. Hutchison is expected to discuss her decision publicly at the end of the month.

However, Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn is expected to announce a challenge to Governor Rick Perry. She's scheduled a public rally in Austin on Saturday.
