Registration is open for the second annual Tech to Town, an event designed by Texas Tech University students as a service project to say "thank you" to the city of Lubbock for all the community does for the university.

"During our time at this university, we call Lubbock home," said Ben Sharp, Student Government Association (SGA) president. "Tech to Town is a fantastic chance for us to give back to the city and citizens that give so much to each of us."

The event is organized by the SGA and the Office of the President. In its inaugural year, the event offered 11 sites for students, faculty and staff to volunteer. This year, 20 different sites in the community are available. The day of service will be April 22.

"Tech to Town is just a small way that we can say thank you, and we look forward to the event continuing to grow," said Missi Currier, director of external relations for the Office of the President. "We hope the Lubbock community knows how grateful we are throughout the year, and not just during Tech to Town."

To register for Tech to Town, visit the event's Volunteer Lubbock website.
