Sunday Morning Fatal Wreck

Running a red light and not wearing a seat-belt were two factors police say lead to a fatal accident.

Police say, just before 3 a.m. Sunday, 40-year-old Leonell Estrada Jr. ran a red light at the intersection of I-27 and Avenue Q and slammed into a Ford Mustang. Estrada was not wearing his seat belt and was thrown from his Chevy Silverado. He died on the scene. The two people in the Mustang were taken to Covenant Medical Center. Twenty five-year-old James Bracy is in stable condition, and 22-year-old Danny Covarrubio was treated and released.
