Victims say burglary suspect, now in custody, impersonated gas company rep

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KCBD) -

36-year-old Donovan Osby is behind bars today, charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony.

Osby was captured following an investigation by Lubbock Police Department detectives, with the help of the Lubbock Field Office of the United States Marshals Service and the Albuquerque U.S. Marshals Service, Osby was arrested Friday around noon.

He will be extradited to Lubbock sometime in the next few days.

Osby is charged in a home burglary that happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, March 7, in the 4700 block of 29th Street.

Victims say a man wearing a plastic work hat and reflective vest pretended to be a service representative for a gas company to get inside the home.

The male victim struggled with the suspect and was hit on the head. The woman tried to break up the fight and the suspect fled the scene.
