Red Raider baseball wins Big XII opener in Austin

AUSTIN, TX (KCBD) -

With runners on the corners in the bottom of the 9th, John McMillon got the game-ending strikeout to give No. 4 Texas Tech a 2-1 win over No. 21 Texas in Austin Friday night.

Michael Berglund went 2 for 4 and had the game-winning RBI in the top of the 7th to give Tech a 2-1 lead.

Michael Davis hit a solo home run in the third inning, his third long ball of the season, to give the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead.

Davis Martin went 6 1/3 innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 run striking out 6.

Game 2 of the series is 4 p.m. on Saturday.
