(CNN) - A popular edamame product has been recalled due to possible listeria contamination.

Advanced Fresh Concepts issued the voluntary recall on the 8-ounce packages after testing found potential listeria in the product. The packages are marked with the UPC 0-23012-00261-9 and dated between Jan. 3 and March 17.

No one has fallen ill, but the product has been recalled from stores, cafeterias and corporate dining centers in 33 states.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states listeria can cause fever, muscle aches, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems.

It also can be fatal to the elderly, those with chronic medical conditions and people with weakened immune systems.

People concerned about whether the edamame they purchased is subject to the recall should check with the store of purchase, stated the FDA's recall announcement. Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should not consume it and return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.

Consumers with questions may call 1-866-467-8744 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT, or they can email recall@afcsushi.com.
