South Plains Texans open National Tourney

Earning the #2 National Seed, the South Plains Texans (29-1) commence action in the NJCAA Men's Basketball National Tournament facing #15 Panola tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The Texans enter having lost their first game of the season in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference Tourney.

According to South Plains College, Jordan Brangers will lead the Texans' offensive attack as the sophomore from Radcliff, Kentucky is averaging 21.2 points per game and shooting 47.9 percent from the 3-point line. Brangers has knocked down a national best 136 3-pointers and ranks 11th with 635 total points scored.

Panola has won 13 of their last 14 and are 26-8.
